Regulation

Regulation is a "rule or directive made and maintained by an authority." It is the action of keeping some content away from specific people e.g. children because it is not suitable. In addition this it is also the action of whether or not allowing the content to viewed in a specific area the being a country (where rules of what is seen, heard is very strict) or public areas where the message to some people could be disturbing e.g. having a poster of the result of smoking impacted the lungs outside a primary school it wouldn't be appropriate.

The teams who should be regulating should be experienced and well established companies who take everything into consideration. An example of a well established organisation is the BBFC, they were founded in 1912 so have a lot of experienced fro last mistakes to the mistakes from others.  the guidelines for regulating are very open to the public as every 4 to 5 years the BBFC  carry out a major public consultation expertise to what the public thinks about the age ratings they are opening the regulating to the people who would be viewing the content which a majority of the time doesn't lead to a bias decision.

Regulation is a very important action that takes place because it can start conflicts if not handled carefully. However there are times where companies fail for example the Pepsi advert with the model and realty tv Kendall Jenner for stepping a protest by handing a Pepsi to an officer; the idea may to some would have seen as un harmful but the regulations idiot take into account there current situations the United States is facing when filming the advert.

So to conclude the regulation for any content that is shown has to be regulated that being yourself self consciously thinking whether or not what your are posting on social media is appropriate we to are regulators.
