 How effective is Film and TV regulation in the Netflix era? The Film and and TV regulation is starting to have a bit of impact on the Netflix era as “ major players such as BT Vision and Netflix are using the ratings.”   Netflix are starting to use and apply the certificates created by the BBFC, this shows a act of cooperation however you could argue are they that effective? Moreover, if Netflix produced content which the BBFC do not agree should be classified because it is “distasteful” Netflix has the right to still post the media.   So this shows us how un-effective TV and film regulation is because even thought they may agree with some ideas Netflix haven't signed a contract with the BBFC  which forces them to follow the so the BBFC classification BBFC now don't have the authority to control what is exposed to the British Public it challenges all the regulation they do for the British public because they can find whatever media is ban...

How does narrative theory apply to the trailer analysed? The trailer I will be analysing  is BEDEVILED by Terror House. The theme for this Trailer I believe is possession because of the way in which the girl is acting in the trailer. Todorov's theory was the idea of Equilibrium, Disequilibrium and resolution. In terror house's trailer they use disequilibrium for the montage scenes which a typical for horror trailers to include this allows the audience to get the action part of the film which will interest them. The trailer was set in a non linear way which is shown in the montage of the film.  Comparing terror house's trailer to my summer one I believe I didn't used Todorov's theory correctly, our montage where scenes which were not filled with action they didn't intrigue the target audience.
