How does narrative theory apply to the trailer analysed? The trailer I will be analysing  is BEDEVILED by Terror House. The theme for this Trailer I believe is possession because of the way in which the girl is acting in the trailer. Todorov's theory was the idea of Equilibrium, Disequilibrium and resolution. In terror house's trailer they use disequilibrium for the montage scenes which a typical for horror trailers to include this allows the audience to get the action part of the film which will interest them. The trailer was set in a non linear way which is shown in the montage of the film.  Comparing terror house's trailer to my summer one I believe I didn't used Todorov's theory correctly, our montage where scenes which were not filled with action they didn't intrigue the target audience. Should society or the individual or an educated elite decide what is a appropriate level of sex and violence to expose children to   I think that an educated elite should decide on what the appropriate level of sex and violence there should be ( which in my opinion should be the least amount possible) because they have a better understand of what children think like as they would have studied the way a child ,mind works and at what age they start to understand things on a deeper level where they know the difference from the right and wrongs by themselves. However the counter argument could be that children eventually will be exposed to this when they get older so is there a point and there is because the child will eventually grow up and they probably will eventually see these things so why must they be exposed to this so early on, there’s no rush for them to see graphic things as this could lea to the child evolving damage tot there mental health which will be harder to c...

One of the many icons in Horror that is used regularly is Religious Symbols, Religion plays a big part in the genre of Horror because with it comes the themes of Good vs Evil, Man fighting demons etc. also the uncertainty of believing it or not. The symbol of death is present in nearly all Horror films. Objects that represent death and that are used in Horror films are coffins, graveyards, gravestones, skeletons and sometimes crows symbolise death especially the afterlife. Light is one of the icons that can be seen in a more positive view symbolising hope which could be because the character might be escaping or they may be defeating the evil antagonist. The two main colours that are used in Horror films are red and black. Red symbolising blood and danger and black symbolising death. In horror films normally the antagonist wears black which symbolises that they as that character represent death and they are normally the ones which cause death upon other characters.  ...
